To create a strategic plan for quality-based and impact-oriented education, Don Bosco College, Panjim, organised an informative workshop for all faculty members titled ‘Roadmap to Distinction: Navigating SDGs and Global Benchmarks to Institutional Growth’ on 17th January 2026.
The session was led by two eminent resource persons: Dr. Bindiya M. Varghese, Dean and Professor, Department of Computer Science, and Dr. Sabeen Govind P. V., Associate Professor and NIRF Nodal Officer, both from Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kerala.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Teotone Vaz, Principal, who set the context for the workshop and highlighted the importance of a well-defined roadmap to enhance credibility, accountability, and excellence in higher education institutions. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director, further emphasised that such a roadmap reflects a philosophy of transformation- moving institutions from good to great by striving to do more, be better, and think differently. Prof. Teotone also presented a brief overview of the college, following which department coordinators shared presentations highlighting key achievements of their respective departments.
Dr. Bindiya M. Varghese guided participants through critical quality indicators and explained how institutions can effectively respond to emerging institutional requirements through strategic planning, structural alignment, and preparedness. She elaborated on the key aspects of the Revised Assessment and Accreditation Framework (RAF) and the Binary Accreditation Framework, offering practical insights for implementation.
Dr. Sabeen Govind P. V. focused on the quantitative evaluation of qualitative standards, explaining nationally accepted models used for rating higher education institutions in India. He provided valuable inputs on measuring qualitative parameters and offered detailed guidance on institutional benchmarking and performance assessment.
Dr. Vijay Viegas, the convenor of the workshop presented the vote of thanks. The workshop proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience for faculty members, equipping them with a clearer understanding of quality assurance mechanisms, accreditation processes, and global benchmarking practices essential for institutional advancement.
