A Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting was organised at Don Bosco College on 1 August 2026 to facilitate interaction between parents, teachers and the college administration and to provide parents with an overview of the institution’s academic, co-curricular and developmental initiatives.
The meeting for the Aided Section was conducted from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. while the meeting for the Self-Financed Section was conducted from 9:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The programme commenced with a welcome address by the College Director, Fr Kinley D’Cruz. PTA Convenor, Asst. Prof. Alisha Souza, presented a brief overview of the college, including its growth from the establishment of its first self-financed programme in 2001 to the expansion of its academic portfolio and the introduction of Grant-in-Aid programmes in 2023. Parents were familiarized with various student-centric initiatives.


The presentation highlighted the college’s emphasis on the holistic development of students through spiritual formation, modern pedagogical practices, innovation, library and technological facilities, and opportunities for participation in clubs, committees, sports, competitions and community-oriented activities. The various student clubs, including the National Service Scheme, Ecotiva Club, Heritage Club, Wellness Club, Tech Savvy Hub, Biz Club and Books and Beyond, were introduced. Recent achievements and activities undertaken by students during July were also shared with the parents.


Principal Vaz spoke about the institutions policies of attendance, uniform, scholarships and urged the parents to assist the college in organising experiential learning opportunities for students, wherever possible.
Following the meeting, gradesheets were distributed in the respective assigned classrooms, after which parents interacted with the mentors and Department teachers regarding the academic progress and overall development of their wards.


At 10:15 a.m., a General Body Meeting of the PTA Executive Committee was held in the Principal’s Cabin. The meeting provided an opportunity for members of the PTA Executive Committee to discuss matters concerning the functioning of the Association and matters related to the welfare and development of students.
The PTA meetings provided a platform for strengthening communication between parents, teachers and the college administration. The interaction also enabled parents to gain a better understanding of the academic environment and the range of opportunities provided by the college for the holistic development of students.
