The Department of Physical Education & Sports organized an Interclass Beach Run on July 3, 2026 at Miramar Beach. The run was flagged off by Principal of the college, Prof. Teotone Vaz in the presence of College Director of Physical Education and Sports, Mr Ryan Pereira, and Instructor of Physical Education and Sports, Ms. Prissie Fernandes.
The beach run aimed to promote the message of living a drug-free life, supporting the “Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan” initiative set by the Government. It also encouraged students to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle. Each class was represented by a team comprising four boys and two girls. The overall champions were determined based on the combined finishing positions of all team participants, with the team securing the lowest total score
declared the winner. Close to 100 students enthusiastically participated in the event. Assistant Professors Alisha Souza, Jude Fernandes and Keenan Costa, also participated in the run, motivating and supporting the students throughout the event.
At the conclusion, SYBA emerged as the overall champions with a total score of 118, while TYBBA finished as the runners-up with 192 points. In the individual boys' category, Kartik Uppin, TY BCom, secured the first place,
followed by Answyn Fernandes, SYBBA, in second place. In the girls' category, Malloni Coelho of SYBA secured the first place, while Mahek Kambli of TY BCom finished in second place.
The winners and runners-up were awarded medals and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances. The Interclass Beach Run concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. The event not only promoted physical fitness and sportsmanship but also reinforced the importance of leading a healthy, drug-free life.
