Blending energy, interaction, and insight, Don Bosco College, Panjim, hosted an engaging workshop titled “The Foundations of Sports for Mental Health: A Collaborative Design Workshop” in the Bicentenary Hall on 27 March 2026. Organized by the Department of Psychology in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education and SANGATH, Porvorim, the session witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 25 students.
The workshop, expertly facilitated by Ms. Brinda Singh, Mental Health Practitioner and Interventionist, and Ms. Rakshanda Pai, Counsellor and Facilitation Supervisor at SANGATH, came alive through interactive activities such as “Bingo with a Twist,” a football passing challenge, and a multi-level obstacle course. These activities not only energized participants but also demonstrated key concepts like teamwork, emotional awareness, and resilience in action.
A reflective session and collaborative planning exercise further enabled participants to internalize and apply their learning. The workshop effectively showcased how sports can serve as a powerful tool for stress management, emotional balance, and holistic development. The event concluded on a high note, leaving participants inspired to embrace physical activity as a pathway to better mental health.
