The Department of Business Administration of Don Bosco College, Panaji, in collaboration with the Wellness Club, organized an enlightening session on “Foundations of a Healthy Lifestyle: Fitness & Nutrition for Young Adults” on Friday, March 13, 2026. The programme, hosted by FYBBA students, aimed at creating awareness among young adults about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through fitness and balanced nutrition.
The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Sahil Chopdekar, an INFS Certified Fitness and Nutrition Consultant, who brought valuable expertise and practical insights into the discussion. Addressing the students, he emphasized that true health extends beyond physical appearance and includes vital aspects such as cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, mobility, and mental well-being.
During the session, Mr. Chopdekar explained the importance of building a sustainable fitness routine and following balanced nutrition practices. He highlighted the role of essential macronutrients such as proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and fibre in supporting metabolism and maintaining energy levels. He also shared practical strategies for leading a healthier lifestyle, including increasing muscle mass, staying physically active throughout the day, maintaining proper hydration, managing stress, and prioritizing quality sleep.
An engaging interactive session followed, where students enthusiastically raised questions related to weight management, healthy diet choices, and daily fitness habits. Responding with scientific and practical guidance, Mr. Chopdekar encouraged students to focus on simple, realistic, and consistent habits rather than extreme diet trends.
The session proved to be highly informative and inspiring, helping students understand the importance of making mindful choices about fitness and nutrition while balancing academic responsibilities. The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of Ms. Glenda Mascarenhas, who encouraged and supported the students in organizing the programme.
