The Women’s Handball team of Don Bosco College, Panjim, participated in the Inter-Collegiate Handball Championship organised by Goa University Sports Section, held on 2nd and 4th March 2026 on the Goa University Ground. A total of 20 colleges competed in the event, making the tournament highly competitive and showcasing impressive skill and sportsmanship.
The team began their campaign by receiving a walkover in the first match, as Narayan Zantye College, Bicholim did not report for the game. In the quarterfinal, the team delivered an impressive performance by defeating P.C.C.E. College of Engineering, Verna. Their confident start reflected disciplined training, strong teamwork, and well-executed strategies on the field.
In the semifinal, they faced Rosary College, Navelim in a closely contested match. Despite a spirited effort and strong determination, the team narrowly lost with a score of 2–3, thereby securing 3rd place in the tournament.
Overall, the team’s performance throughout the tournament was highly commendable and brought immense pride to the college. This achievement highlights the institution’s continued commitment to promoting excellence in sports alongside academics.
