A team of 27 students from Don Bosco College participated in WordsUp 7.0, organised by the department of English, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa. The national-level intercollegiate event took place on 16th and 17th February 2026. A total of 10 colleges across Goa competed fiercely, each hoping to return with the trophy.


WordsUp 7.0 welcomed participation from students across multiple departments. At our college, the event saw enthusiastic participation from students representing the Departments of English, Psychology, Computer Applications as well as Mass Communication and Journalism. The theme for this year’s event was science fiction. Some events required extensive knowledge about the genre, like debate and quizzes. Others like stand-up comedy and cooking only demanded basic familiarity.


The college team secured positions in four different events:
The Pilot (Book Chapter Creation)- 2nd place: Lisa D’silva from FYBA
Vlogging- 2nd place: Aryan Pathan from SYBA
Stand-Up Comedy- 3rd place: Dhruv Naik from FYBAMCJ
Cooking- 3rd place: Shefa Bepari (SYBA) and Joylyen Fernandes (FYBA)
Beyond the competitions, the event proved to be a valuable learning experience for our students, honing their teamwork and communication skills. With these new skills and lasting memories, our students returned with invaluable experience that will guide them in their future endeavors.
