The Prevention of Ragging Committee and the Internal Complaints Committee of Don Bosco College, Panjim, in collaboration with the Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee and the Institutional Social Responsibility Cell, organised a talk on Prevention of Ragging and Awareness of the PoSH Act on July 21, 2025, from 9.00 AM to 11.00 AM in the college’s Bicentenary Hall for first-year students.
The program commenced with a Welcome Address, setting the tone for the morning's proceedings. The organising committees were introduced in the presence of Director Rev. Fr. Kinley D’cruz and Principal Dr. Cedric Silveira, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the college bodies involved in promoting a safe and inclusive campus environment.
A brief overview of the sessions was presented, after which the gathering was addressed by the Director, Rev. Fr. Kinley D'Cruz, who emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of respect, dignity, and awareness among students.

The first session featured Adv. Clinton Rebello, who was introduced by the host. He delivered an insightful talk on the Prevention of Ragging, shedding light on its legal implications, psychological impact, and the college’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. His interactive session urged students to take a stand against any form of harassment or intimidation.
This was followed by the second session by Adv. Celesta Saldanha, introduced shortly after. She elaborated on the PoSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act, outlining the rights of individuals, institutional responsibilities, and redressal mechanisms in place. Her talk was particularly impactful in highlighting the role of awareness and communication in ensuring gender sensitivity and safety on campus. A memento was also presented to Adv. Celesta by the Convenor of the Internal Complaints committee as a token of gratitude.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ma’am Marina Martins, who acknowledged the efforts of the organising committees, guest speakers, college management, and student attendees for making the event a learning experience. A group photograph was taken to commemorate the occasion.
This initiative reinforced Don Bosco College’s ongoing commitment to promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all.
