Don Bosco College, Panjim, hosted a heartfelt farewell ceremony on April 1, 2025 to honour its graduating students. The event, held in the Don Bosco Bicentenary Hall, was a beautiful culmination of memories, gratitude and celebration, marking the transition of students into new journeys ahead. The programme commenced with a Holy Mass, setting a reflective and spiritual tone for the day. This was followed by the formal farewell function. The College Director, Rev Fr Joaquim Lobo and Principal Dr Cedric Silveira, addressed the gathering, inspiring students to embrace their future endeavours with confidence and perseverance.
The cultural segment of the event featured vibrant performances, with First Year and Second Year students putting together a medley performance and an energetic traditional dance. One of the most awaited moments of the ceremony was the Awards Distribution, where outstanding students in academics and extracurricular activities were appreciated for their dedication and excellence. In the Department of Computer Applications, Sahil Naik was awarded Best Student – Academics, and Farhana Khan was awarded Best Student in Extracurricular Activities. In the Department of Business Administration (Travel & Tourism), Ronan Fernandes received the Best Student – Academics award, and Maanya Kalkundri received the Best Student – Extracurricular Activities award. In the Department of Business Administration, Mohit Murgaonkar was named Best Student – Academics, while Shania D’Costa was named Best Student – Extracurricular Activities. In the Department of Mass Communication, Sharvi Dhond was awarded Best Student – Academics, and Rameez Shaikh was awarded Best Student – Extracurricular Activities. In the Department of Physical Education, Louraj Hazare received the Best Student – Academics award, while Sushmita Jadhav received the Best Student – Extracurricular Activities award. Finally, in the Department of Social Work, Anuja Gaonkar was awarded Best Student – Academics.
The farewell also included a special Departmental Recognition segment, where heads of Departments delivered short speeches, reflecting on the students' growth and achievements, followed by heartfelt words from student representatives who expressed gratitude and shared fond memories. A nostalgic moment was seen when students received their last class photographs with their respective departments. The farewell concluded on an emotional yet joyous note with the vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Nigel Barreto, who appreciated the efforts of the faculty and students for making the event memorable. A closing song brought the function to a harmonious end, leaving the graduating batch with cherished memories to carry forward. The Don Bosco College family extends its best wishes to the outgoing batch of 2025, hoping that they continue to uphold the values and knowledge imparted during their academic journey.
