Don Bosco College’s Department of Business Administration (Travel & Tourism), in collaboration with IQAC, organized a two-day Personality Development Workshop on 19th and 26th August 2024 for their first-year students. The guest speaker, Ms Noella Fernandes, President of the Toastmasters Club, Panjim, provided an in-depth explanation of verbal and non-verbal communication, emphasizing their importance in personal and professional settings. This included aspects such as volume, clarity, grammar, pauses, fillers, body language, facial expressions, and eye contact. The students actively participated in various activities designed to enhance their communication skills.

The second session began with a quick recap of the key points discussed during the previous meeting, including the role of attire and listening in non-verbal communication. Following the recap, an activity was conducted in which students described their role models and explained the reasons as to why they looked up to these individuals. This activity not only boosted the students' confidence but also provided them with an opportunity to reflect on their own strengths and identify areas for improvement.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, and a token of appreciation was presented to Ms Fernandes by the first-year students. Overall, the workshop was a great success, equipping students with essential communication skills and enhancing their confidence to express themselves more effectively
