Campaign Against Human Trafficking Organised by AMRAT

The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of Don Bosco College, Panaji


The Asian Movement of Women Religious Against Human Trafficking (AMRAT), under the aegis of Talitha Kum India organised a campaign against human trafficking on 29 July, 2024, at Don Bosco College, Panaji, Goa. The campaign aimed to create awareness among the students and faculty. The resource persons for the session were Sr. Grace Rodrigues, Sr. Maya Da Costa and Sr. Esperanca D’silva. The Sisters shared their experience working towards the rescue and rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking. The students learnt about the necessity of such awareness, and were encouraged to take part in the fight against human exploitation.

To further the work undertaken by AMRAT, the faculty and students were encouraged to form an Anti-Human Trafficking Cell. The objectives of this cell would include awareness campaigns, outreach programmes, counselling, and activism. Nineteen students from FYBBA volunteered to join the cell, along with Asst. Prof. Marina F. Martins and the college counsellor Ms. Zaneta D’Mello.
