Event Management Workshop held at DBC

QUICK BITE - To impart event management skills to the students of BBA, a 5 day workshop was conducted at Don Bosco College, Panaji


Event management is an area of great interest nowadays with Goa being a tourist destination and with a number of national and international events being held here. Inorder to impart event management skills to the students of BBA, a 5 day workshop was conducted at Don Bosco College, Panaji from 15th November to 19th November. Day 1 saw Komal Kharpade speaking on the event management industry as a whole and her experiences and challenges. She said that inorder to survive in the industry one must be ready to work at any hour of the day.


Pravin Sabnis who came the next day explained the difference between needs and wants and how as an event manager or planner one must be able to satisfy the wants of the stakeholders. He also spoke about doing simple things in an innovative manner and thereby save expenses. Day 3 had Kiran Chandra talking about the different people involved in an event and the roles each person plays right from designing the invites to the actual day event.


Barbara Lornei who came in the next day spoke about different scenarios at an event and how as an event manager one has to deal with these situations. She gave live examples and made the students find solutions to the problems. The last day had Sameer Kapadi talking about outdoor advertising and campaigning. The students were very enthusiastic and many felt drawn towards the event management industry.
