They say “Waste is not waste until we waste it”. And to contemplate on the same the SYBBA students of group 2 and 6 in collaboration with Ecotiva club of Don Bosco College, Panjim organized a visit to the Material recovery facility managed by Feedback Foundation under the banner of City of Corporation of Panjim on 14th March 2024. CCP, Panjim is the main governing body seeing into the entire waste management system of the city and surrounding areas. This visit was organized to understand the different procedures practiced in waste management, disposal, collection, segregation and recycling of the same. The students saw the reality of life, how the waste is manually segregated and the working environment. The real life of how our waste is managed by another human being. Mr Balaji Kendre, the Project coordinator, Feedback foundation guided through the entire area and explained each and every process. Ms Kiran from the same also gave a briefing. The group members are documenting the visit and will be converted into an audio visual which will be then shared with the concerned organization. Overall the visit was an eye opener for the students and were sensitized with what they saw and that waste can be managed at source. This will also help them have a motto in life, “Think twice, dispose wise”
